Reflecting on my residency |
One of my greatest strengths as an educator lies in my ability to make strong connections with my students. I firmly believe that establishing a positive and supportive relationship with each individual learner is crucial for their academic and personal growth. From the very beginning, I strive to create a warm and inclusive classroom environment where students feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, ideas, and concerns.
I take the time to get to know my students on a personal level, recognizing their strengths, challenges, and aspirations. By demonstrating a sincere interest in their lives and experiences, I create a foundation of trust and respect that encourages open communication. Once I have established these connections, I tailor my teaching approach to meet the diverse learning styles and preferences of my students. I believe in fostering a collaborative learning environment, where students are encouraged to share their ideas and learn from one another. |
As an educator, one area in which I am focused on growing is in managing time effectively during lessons. I sometimes find it challenging to effectively allocate and prioritize my time. This can lead to feeling overwhelmed or rushing through certain tasks
I recognize the importance of maximizing instructional time and ensuring that all learning objectives are met within the allocated class period. Currently, I sometimes find myself running out of time or not being able to cover all the planned content thoroughly. To improve in this area, I am actively working on developing better time management strategies. This includes setting clear time limits for each activity, prioritizing essential content, and using instructional techniques that promote efficiency, such as chunking information or incorporating time-saving technology tools. |
